Couples Therapy Training and Education Program (CTTEP)

Curriculum Overview

The curriculum of our Couples Therapy Training and Education Program (CTTEP) emphasizes Interpersonal Psychoanalytic-Systemic Couples Therapy, while including additional psychoanalytic-systemic points of view. Our approach both in our theory of technique and our practical guidance about intervening is defined by integrating core psychoanalytic constructs with constructs that define systems work. There are three components to the program: didactics, group case conferences, and off-site one to one case consultation.

Academic Calendar Overview

Our academic calendar starts in September and continues for thirty weeks. One-and-a-half hour classes followed by one-hour case seminars will take place on Fridays from 12:15-3 in person at the Institute unless the pandemic necessitates moving the program online. Trainees also complete 30 consultation hours with their given case consultant. The time for the required once weekly off-site case consultation will be agreed upon between the trainee and the consultant.
