“My spirit and energy flow from inside.” Prolific artist Richard Polsky, whose artwork greatly enhances the Institute’s newly renovated 4th and 5th floors of the Institute’s Clinic, joins us to share the arc of his creative life and language.
His compositions, a complex mixture of line, color and texture, are reminiscent of de Kooning, Krasner and Klee. Polsky will discuss his unique process, including his discovery of hand-made Dieu Donne’ paper in Soho that he examines closely before making a mark. Accompanied by a slide presentation, he will delve deeply into the artist’s need to create, his technique and the influence that Abstract Expressionism has had on his work. He has exhibited his paintings in New York, New England, Hong Kong and Seoul.
